Progresso Light Soup Review and Giveaway

I've written about my history with Progresso soups before, and I've been given the opportunity to review two new flavors through My Blog Spark. These two new flavors are rich and creamy, but light on calories. Light Creamy Potato with Bacon and Cheese and Light Chicken Pot Pie Style each have 100 calories per serving (2 PointsPlus on Weight Watchers). They're created to make you forget about guilt when eating rich, indulgent, and flavorful soups.

I really enjoyed the Chicken Pot Pie flavor because it honestly tasted like a chicken pot pie--only way more soupy (I mean...it is a soup after all). So just imagine eating your favorite CPP, but with a lot of extra juice. I like that it's a light option for something that is definitely a typical heavy, heavy meal. It's got white-meat chicken, hearty potatoes, and all the classic vegetables you expect in a CPP. If you are a Weight Watchers member, remember it only has 2 PointsPlus per serving, but I ate the whole can...so that's 4 points and 200 calories. Not bad for a creamy, satisfying lunch.

The Creamy Potato with Bacon & Cheese soup was good too, with plenty of pieces of potato, bacon, and cheesy goodness. I make my own Loaded Baked Potato soup, which I would prefer, but it's not at all a light version--so that's a definite perk to the Progresso Light soup. It's got the same 100 calories and 2 PointsPlus as the Chicken Pot Pie soup. The taste was good, and in my opinion, for ready to eat soups that are low in calories, it's got to be the top.
