Green Giant Seasoned Steamers Review & Giveaway

With all the hustle and bustle of our move to Kansas over the past two months, I nearly forgot about the exciting opportunity My Blog Spark gave me. Green Giant recently released a new product in the frozen veggie aisle-- Seasoned Steamers. These are one of the first non-sauced, but still seasoned & flavorful, packages of frozen vegetables that can be steamed right in the bag.
We are HUGE fans of steamable frozen veggie packs in this house. It is SO easy to pop them in the microwave while the rest of the meal cooks, and then toss them on a plate to compliment any dish. Sure, fresh veggies are wonderful--but often they can be more expensive or time consuming to prepare, so sometimes veggies fall by the budget cuts and then nutrition is lacking. That's why I love stocking up on steamers when they are on sale (we have probably 8 bags in our freezer right now), and we never lack a veggie at dinner time. G's favorites are peas and carrots.

So when I was given the opportunity to review the Green Giant Seasoned Steamers, of course I jumped at the opportunity, despite the chaotic life we have been living.

I received a coupon to try one free pack of Seasoned Steamers, a big serving bowl, a cute apron, and a serving slotted spoon. (You can enter to win the same prize pack below)

The flavors offered are:

  • Mediterranean Blend
  • Tuscan Seasoned Broccoli
  • Brussel Sprouts with Sea Salt and Cracked Pepper
  • Honey Roasted Sweet Corn
  • Honey Dijon Carrots
  • Backyard Grilled Potatoes Unfortunately my local grocery store didn't have the backyard grilled potatoes available when I made my purchase.
I chose the honey dijon carrots because I figured G would be most likely to try it. Unfortunately she didn't really care for the strong dijon flavor. I must say, they do have quite the unexpected burst of flavor. At first, we were all (including my sister who was over for dinner) kind of caught off-guard. My husband eventually said that they were growing on him, and I found them to be different-but good too. I think I'd love the honey roasted sweet corn, but feel that carrots offer more nutritional value. I also want to give the other flavors a try...even the brussel sprouts (because we love sea salt in our house, not that we typically eat them!).
