Today's personal blog is about six places. That's pretty vague! I'll list some favorite places and some places I want to go :-)
One of my favorite places is the kitchen. I love to bake and cook. I consider myself a pretty good 'home-cook.' I don't claim to be a fancy-schmancy chef or anything, but I make up recipes and I only measure certain ingredients. I do use some box things (mainly for brownies), but love making things from scratch. I like using my hands in the kitchen, just as a guy likes using his hands in the garage. Call me old-fashioned...I don't care.
Another of my favorite places is the gym. Being an athlete is part of who I am. I have a competitive nature and a need to de-stress, the gym fulfills that. I know my way around any gym I walk into, and enjoy a mix of all activities--functional training, cardio equipment, weight machines, and free weights. I also love pilates and am okay with yoga or fitness classes. I also used to do spinning classes, but haven't gotten back into those since being pregnant.
Another of my favorite places is the beach. Cliche as that may be...there's something to be said for crashing waves, fresh-smelling breeze, warm sand, and a cool beverage in your hand. I've only been to the gulf and Atlantic beaches...but soon hope to experience the Pacific cost.
Three places I'd like to go:
Ireland. I've heard it's pretty boring, except for the green coasts, but I'd still like to see it for myself.
Rome/Vatican City. 'nuff said.
...on an all expenses paid cruise to several islands.

I've been to Ireland and loved it! I went in high school with my marching band (we played at the St. Patrick's Day parade), so everything was guided tours which kept us busy so that may have something to do with never being bored. We saw several castles and even had a medieval dinner one evening in one of them.
ReplyDeleteMy soon to be sister-in-law (I have on good authority that my brother-in-law is going to propose soon) just spent a year in Ireland as an au pair. I'm sure she has some great tips of places to go and things to see! Hope you get to go there sometime!
That's awesome about performing in Ireland! My husband was in marching band for a while...I'm not musically inclined at all.
ReplyDeleteI hope we get to go sometime too ;-)
