Planet Wise Cloth Wipes / Wipe Pouch Review & Giveaway

I first saw Planet Wise at my local cloth diaper store, while shopping for my pre-baby stash. Their bags were super cute, and felt like they were made of quality materials. I went home and did some more research on Planet Wise, and found out pretty much every cloth diaper mom loves them! I went back to the store and bought a medium wet bag for our diaper bag. I love it because it truly keeps the moisture AND smell inside, so that nothing else in the diaper bag is affected from dirty diapers. During my cloth wipe research, I found out that Planet Wise also makes cloth wipes! I was really excited when they offered me the opportunity to review a pack of their flannel wipes and a Planet Wise wipe pouch. A lot of cloth diaper brands offer wipes, but not many sell a pouch for storing them.

My Review

Flannel Wipes ($12.99 value) Sold in sets of 10, in colors that coordinate with the wipe pouches!

Material. Planet Wise cloth wipes are made in the USA, of high quality flannel fabric. I have read that a lot of cloth wipe users prefer flannel. I wasn't sure why, because it seemed awfully thin to me. But after trying out the Planet Wise flannel, I know how practical it is for wiping dirty messes off of cute little tushies. While flannel is not as plush as velour cotton or bamboo, it is quite soft and textured in the right way. G's diaper area is sensitive to rubbing, but the flannel fabric wipes her clean without irritating her. I'm very pleased with the material used for Planet Wise wipes because I don't have to rub very hard to get the messes off.

Size. I love that these wipes are 8 x 8 inches square. I'm currently reviewing a few wipes that are more of a rectangle shape, and it's safe to say that I do prefer the larger square size of these Planet Wise wipes. The edges are rounded and surged, which allow the entire surface to be easily used. I'm able to clean baby G with only one Planet Wise wipe--check out my video for how I do so.

Care. We just throw our wipes in the pail with our dirty diapers and wash them all together. The wipe pouch is also washed with our diapers.

Wipe Pouch ($10.99 value)

Size. The Planet Wise wipe pouch is 5.5 x 9.5" -- which is about the length and width of a disposable wipe box. It's the perfect size for storing wipes while on the go--but also large enough for keeping a stock of about 10 wipes ready while at home too. It fits great in my diaper bag--and is super cute when I pull it out.

Use. Most changing kits come with a wipe container, but the Planet Wise wipe pouch is much more practical. Even if you don't use cloth wipes, this pouch would be a great addition to your diaper bag. It is soft and pliable, so it can get stuffed into a full diaper bag; rather than the plastic, rigid ones I've seen falling out of many diaper bags. There is a snap-down feature that stops moisture from wicking through the zipper; so fill your wipe pouch with pre-moistened disposable or cloth wipes without worrying about them drying out through the zipper. It's such a practical bag that I will keep using it even after G is potty trained.

Quality. Planet Wise wet bags are made in the USA of high quality materials, and the wipe pouch is no different. It's PVC free and waterproof on the inside. The zipper is lead free and locking, so it won't come open unless I unzip it. The inner layer is sewn with hidden seams, and sealed to lock moisture in. I have been using my wet bag for almost a year now, and the wipe pouch for about a month--no leaks, ever. I don't think I can convey, in words, how amazing Planet Wise reusable bags are...you really just need to try one for yourself!
