BABY BOY!!!! For his sake, the XY photo shall remain off the internet, so you get a beautiful picture of his face at 20 weeks--in 4D no less! His hand is up by his eye, and his other arm was moving a lot, so there is a swirl on the right side of the photo.
We are so excited to welcome our first son into our family this holiday season :-)

My sister came to visit us, so we had to pick her up at the airport today. We made a day of it by going to the outlet mall for a tiny bit of shopping (got G the cutest shirt and shorts) and then running to the Cheesecake Factory for their national 'Cheesecake Day' celebration extension (1/2 price slice through a facebook promotion). The only bummer was I forgot my credit card at the Cheesecake Factory--bummmmmeeerrr! Also, G took forever to fall asleep because her nap was so late.
Here are a few photos:

I know I'm a bit late on Father's Day...still catching up... but I just had to share this photo of my amazing husband and our little girl on his day.
I can't even begin to describe how great of a father he is to G. He shows her fun little tricks and teaches her things I wouldn't have ever thought to do with her. He doesn't mind getting into the dirt with her and plans to teach her to fish. They laugh and play together whenever he has time. Until recently, he was the sole bath giver / bed time get-her-ready-er. He changes diapers, even smelly ones. He cleans up messes and sits with her on the potty for 20 minutes. He pushes her in her pink stroller. He reads her stories and snuggles her on the couch. He will get up to soothe her in the middle of the night if I ask. And one of the best things he does for her...he drops everything the second he gets home to pick her up, hug her, and make her feel important. He doesn't ask for a minute to breathe, or act flustered by his long 12 hour day. He's a great dad because he puts her needs before his--and that's kind of rare in this day and age. I love him immensely for it.

G's cutest thing, according to my husband, is when she says "I Don't Know!"
On Saturday, she was chasing some birds at the Discovery Museum, and when they went away from her, she let us know..."I don't know where they are going!"

On Sunday, we headed out for a little walk in nature. There's a great hiking area near us called Black Diamond Mines Regional Park, but we opted for the less-intimidating-sounding-but-also-nearby park that features a trail around a public water supply reservoir. Contra means opposite and Loma means hill...so as you might imagine, there were some beautiful rolling hills around us.

My husband requested Mexican Cornbread Casserole for dinner this week. I've made it one other time and it was so delicious, but this time I decided to play with the recipe. It's seriously soooo yummy! I highly suggest you check out the recipe I came up with. This dish is different from your run-of-the-mill casseroles and is sure to please everyone (though you should alter the spiciness to appease the palates in your house).

THE Full House house

This past weekend I fulfilled a personal 'bucket list' item. I found the Full House house. Growing up, I was truly addicted to the show. Before TV on DVD was a 'thing,' my nana recorded all the episodes for me onto VHS. In preschool, when asked what I wanted to be when I grew up, I responded, "Michelle" (not the Olsen twins, I wanted to literally be Michelle, ouce cream and all).
I recently learned that the Full House house was not actually part of the famous Painted Ladies from the intro credits, as I had assumed. It was a seemingly random house at 1709 Broderick Street. The occupants of the house have since changed its front door to--I can only assume--throw off the swarms of pop culture fanatics looking to find the Tanner family.

G's hair is finally long enough for some hair accessories. Today she wore her purple hair clip. At first she kept pulling it out, but eventually she left it alone.

My new clothes line's first use #WW #linky

One of the best things about having a house / yard: I can now really utilize the sun as an energy-saving alternative to a dryer. In our old apartment, I could occasionally use an indoor drying rack out on our small patio to sun a few diapers. I wished for more space and sun to dry more things "naturally."
I've finally have that now and Tuesday I put our new clothes line to the test!
My husband did some extensive research on a clothes line we could take with us when we move (read, wouldn't have to cement into the ground of a rental house). He ultimately decided on this Tripod Portable Clothes Dryer

We spent several days at my in-laws prior to our move. They don't have a high chair for baby G and we couldn't bring ours due to it being shipped to CA, so this is where G ate most of her meals :-)

First kids meal: Wordless Wednesday

Due to all the moving adventures, baby G got her first restaurant kid's meal yesterday. She's a ballin' kiddo & had a fancy Hereford House (voted best steakhouse in KC) li'l wrangler meal.
For $5, we got an all natural beef hot dog on toasted bun, steamed veggies (broccoli, carrots, green beans, red bell peppers, squash, zucchini), fruit cup (pineapple, melon, strawberries), and it was supposed to come with a drink & ice cream sundae (but she didn't need those). I thought that was a super deal!
