My new clothes line's first use #WW #linky

One of the best things about having a house / yard: I can now really utilize the sun as an energy-saving  alternative to a dryer. In our old apartment, I could occasionally use an indoor drying rack out on our small patio to sun a few diapers. I wished for more space and sun to dry more things "naturally."

I've finally have that now and Tuesday I put our new clothes line to the test!

My husband did some extensive research on a clothes line we could take with us when we move (read, wouldn't have to cement into the ground of a rental house). He ultimately decided on this Tripod Portable Clothes Dryer

  1. I'm so jealous, would love to have a yard where I could put portable clothes dryer like that! My "backyard" is a parking lot =(

  2. I miss hanging clothes outside to dry. Think I will have to get a new clothesline so I can start doing so again. Happy spring!

  3. I used to love my clothes line. I haven't used it in years though.

  4. This is the second WW that takes me back to yesteryear...I remember my mom using one of these when I was a kid...at the same time as my dad was using a push-powered mower to mow the lawn! Here's hoping your WW is highly energy-efficient....

  5. don't have my own yard. i always get advised to hang clothes but there's really not advisable to hang the clothes indoors either. that's a great clothes line

  6. Love it! We looked into a clothes line at first, but then discovered our HOA doesn't allow it. Yay for being able to save money and lengthen the life of the dipes at the same time!

  8. There isn't anything like using the old solar system of drying. If it was good enough for grandma, it's good enough for me. Since I live in a desert, and do hang my clothes out to dry, I have found that the sun can have devastating effects on our clothes. The sun will bleach out bright colors, and will break them down quicker.

  9. I need to get one like this! We live in base housing so we can't exactly cement one in either, but we also live in Hawaii and sun drying is really economical. I don't have a fence around my backyard either, so right now my diapers are pinned to my neighbors fence!!! :D

  10. How convenient! I live on a corner lot and my only yard space is in the front...don't know if I want my laundry and unmentionables hanging in the front yard for all to see!

  11. Wow--I wish I had a place to put something like that. NYC living kinda precludes clothlines ;)
