Baby on a Budget, guest post

Today I have a guest post at Catholic Newlywed. I wrote an intimate piece about having a baby on a budget.

I'd love to hear what you think, either comments here or there.

Baby on a Budget: Happily a One Income Family

Hope you enjoy reading, because I really enjoyed writing it!

  1. I went over and read your guest post about budgeting with baby and then I also read the exception to the rules post she linked to as well. Both were great reads. I can definitely relate with the sometimes feeling like school was a waste of money as I was even completing my masters in special education when I was 7 months pregnant with Alethea. I just have to keep reminding myself that babies will eventually grow up and I may decide to go back to teaching some day. :-) Plus, as you said, what you learn in the education field is beneficial when raising your own child. I love all your tips for budgeting! We are in a very similar situation with the one income and I wouldn't trade being at home for anything, even if it does force us to watch our budget closely.

Side Note: The more I read your posts, the more I realize how much we have in common beyond the fact our girls are a day apart. :-) Both of us graduated in education, both hubbies were engineering majors (mine mechanical), both got married while at least one spouse was still in college (hubby was 2 yrs from grad when we got married), one income families, etc. So fun!

  3. Awe, Cori, that's awesome about our similarities! Looks like it wouldn't just be the girls who were BFFS if we lived closer :-)
Also, I find that the education/engineering match-up is so common!

@Marlena, thanks for reading :-) I'm glad you liked it!!

  4. Interesting article though the title is a bit misleading. I expected tips on saving on baby/kids items more then just your general budget hints based on "baby on a budget" headline.
