Swaddlebees Cloth Wipes Review & Giveaway

The switch to cloth wipe event continues! Prior to these wipes, I had never tried any Swaddlebees cloth products, but I had swooned over their top quality cloth diapers and accessories. I was super excited when they agreed to be part of Letters from Momma's switch to cloth wipes. I was able to review both the bamboo wipes and the baby cloth wipes--in addition to receiving a wet bag! Check out the review below.

My Review
Bamboo Cloth Wipes ($15.95 for 6)

Material. 70% viscose from bamboo, 20% organic cotton, 10% polyester; made in USA. The bamboo velour side is for cleansing & drying gently, and the bamboo terry on the other side is a great texture for dirtier messes. I've not felt a wipe as soft as these, which is saying a lot, because we've tried some awesome wipes during our switch to cloth wipes.

Size. The Swaddlebees bamboo wipes are a 5x8" rectangle. In some of my other reviews I commented that I preferred the larger 8x8" square size, but the softness and durability of these wipes out ranks my size preference. I love that these can lay flat in a wipe container (or warmer). They have rounded and serged edges.

Use. These are the newest wipes in our stash and, of course, they call out my name at the changing table. I've found these wipes to be very easy to use at both "types" of diaper changes. If baby G is just wet, I reach for these because they are so soft and gentle. I have used them during dirty diaper changes, and they do remove large and small clumps alike. However, I haven't been able to use just one for a dirty diaper due to their size and pliable nature. Because our wipe stash is so large, thanks to the switch to cloth wipe event, it doesn't bother me to use two cloth wipes at a diaper change--but you may find that to be a negative feature. The seemingly high price point is justified by the luxuriousness of these wipes. The Swaddlebees bamboo cloth wipes are supple and durable at the same time. I'm half-tempted to turn them into hand and face wipes because they feel too nice. I almost feel bad using them on her booty...almost.

Baby Cloth Wipes ($12.95 for 6)

Material. 80% cotton, 20% polyester; made in USA.
Each side of these wipes offers practicality; colored cotton velour for cleaning tender areas and cotton sherpa on the other side for heavy duty messes. Swaddlebees baby cloth wipes come in nine colors as shown in the picture at right. We received the grape color for review; they are a really deep purple that match my blog perfectly ;-)

Size. Again, these wipes are a 5x8" rectangle, and my size commentary is the same as with the bamboo wipes. From comments received on my other wipe reviews, most moms love this size! I also find that the rounded, serged edge on these wipes is the best quality on any of the wipes we've tried. The stitching is heavy duty and keeps well in the washer/dryer. I've not had to trim any loose threads.

Use. The sherpa side is seriously amazing. My husband thinks it's a weird texture to have for cloth wipes...but I'm the one who changes the majority of G's dirty diapers, so I am more in the know than he. I spray her booty and wipe it clean with the sherpa side. I love that the sherpa is unbleached cotton because when I do one last wipe, if that side remains colorless I can tell there is nothing left behind. Then I pat her dry with the velour side, which is also handy for simple wet diaper changes too.

Care. Toss either type of wipe in your diaper pail and wash with the rest of your diaper laundry. The Swaddlebees wipes are easy to use & easy to care for; better for the environment & better for your budget!

You won't be disappointed with either of the Swaddlebees wipe options, but it will be hard to choose between the two if you win the giveaway below!

I also received a Swaddlebees wet bag and the giveaway prize includes one too! It measures 16" x 14" x 4" (holds 6-8 diapers) and is made of water proof polyester laminate. Great for storing dirty or clean diapers when on the go!

You can purchase Swaddlebees cloth diaper products on their website, and from many online or local retailers. Be sure to follow them on Twitter and like them on Facebook--you'll also get bonus entries in the giveaway for doing so.
